TV show - forgot that Mya character either was spun off from this show or they did a connection of characters at a point.

For me, all I knew was that The Game was a spin-off from Girlfriends. So was that show a spin from this one?

girlfriends is not a spin-off of Moesha

Girlfriends and Moesha were on the same network, UPN.

Just like when Melissa Joan Hart Crossed over as Sabrina the Teenage Witch on Boy Meets world - Sabrina and BMW were both on ABC

Plus Girlfriends started in 2000 and the episode of Moesha where Golden Brooks played her Girlfriends character Maya was in 2001

UPN used to do "Crossover" nights with the black shows, where one of the characters would make an appearance on another black show, to make them seem more "connected", that's why Maya appeared on an episode of Moesha. Another example, Niecy from Moesha appeared on an episode of Girlfriends (it's called Old Dog, in Season 1).

They also did Crossovers with One on One and Eve etc. Eve appeared on an early episode of One on One.
