Yeah they never did explain it but I wish they had went into the background of things a bit more. I like the episodes where Mo talked about her Mom.
shareI like the theory that Frank killed her and made it look like an accident. In the "Moesha and the Restless" alternate reality segment, Moesha's mom and Frank never got back together and she's still alive because of it.

I think she passed from child birth complications after having Miles. I could be wrong though. I haven't watched this show in years..
shareWell you can't really be wrong because they literally never say how she died. You could say that she got hit by a meteorite and there's really nothing to contradict that. If I had to give a serious guess, I would say that it was probably a car accident. Full House did the same thing and it wasn't until like the 8th season before someone finally said how the mom died there. Maybe if Moesha lasted another season or two we would have gotten an answer.
shareI remember that Full House episode where Kimmy got drunk. I think they should have did some background as well in how Moesha mom died in the mother's day episode. That would have been the perfect episode to do it.
I always assumed she had cancer or something of the sort. I really don't remember them saying what is was she died from but because she wasn't that old, I assumed it was cancer or maybe a car accident.
