Perhaps the best way to launch the first episode would have been to show the saying "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." All the first season episodes had quotes except that one.

That first episode is gold. It's got a lot of memorable scenes that I still remember after 15 odd years.
"I want to watch you dance on the blood dimmed tide" with nine inch nails and rob zombie as the soundtrack.
Very good series, I'm obviously on this board because I'm thinking about it, might be time to revisit.
