In the new episodes they added in err...not trying to be rasict...black girls?

Im sure there never used to be any in the old series o.O

And also in the new ones the adventures always seem a bit corny and tacked on to me...The old episodes were more simple and entertaining.

I agree Cookiemonster371. What they have done with the newer episodes is what you call making the show Politically Correct. I wish they would just leave the original Madeline as is like set in the 50s Paris.

From what I remember, the "original" was truer to the book in terms of illustrations. The new series has more of a generic look about them, I thought. I like Christopher Plummer`s narration in the new version, but wasn`t it a woman`s voice in the original? (He also did another couple of "kids` classics" like The Velveteen Rabbit and David the Gnome, so I had to think there for a second...)

There are some episodes, though, that you cannot buy. I have searched for these episodes and the only place I can find them is in Australia, different region.

"Madeline at the Louvre" has just been released on DVD by Fox Home with two other episodes as "Madeline: Meet Me in Paris". You can find it at various online merchants, I have also seen it at Walmart. Another DVD ("Next Stop, America") is scheduled to come out in May.
