Please help me out with case, 10/6, motorcycle rental

I was distracted and missed the gist of the case. From what I caught, owner of a motorcycle rental shop was suing a customer. He reserved a bike for his son for the Thanksgiving weekend, in September. A few days later, he found out his son would be unable to visit, so he canceled the reservation.

If I understand correctly, she didn't refund the charges. Defendant filed a complaint with his credit card company and lost, so shop owner got to keep his money.

Don't think that Judy understood what she was suing for---she had his money. Frankly, I'm not clear on why she was suing either. She babbled something about not being able to rent the bike to anyone else, yet Judy got her to admit she had other bikes to rent out to others.

Help???

You got the whole gist of it. The shop owner got to keep the money and the potential ability to re-rent the bike. The defendant dropped the claim with his credit card company so the plaintiff was able to keep his money - which I feel bad for him because he seemed like a nice person but if he signed a contract that said no refunds then that's his problem. However the plaintiff was a pig trying to double dip. She claimed because he dropped the case with the credit card company she was some how entailed to more money. She probably rented it out anyway and was trying to cash in for a triple amount by suing him.

Thanks PrincessAri---I thought I had missed something because I couldn't believe it was that obvious that the cycle shop owner was that greedy.
