This is very scary. =( I almost don't want to think about it. She gave me her e-mail a long time ago, but that account got reported and banned from here because of an argument I had with homophobe.

I think that is a good idea, of course I'm new here and not in the friends circle, but it's a good idea for any online friends. I've been in the place you guys are in and worried about an online friend who has gone MIA.
My suggestion is for everyone to let family or a trusted friend have access to your online accounts. Your passwords, logins and online places you visit often. Let them know if you are seriously ill or worse that you want him or her to write a message to let your online friends know what happened.
I had a heart attack awhile back and I'm active on a book website with forums. My wife posted on it with frequent updates. My online friends appreciate the updates as much as my friend offline.
So just a suggestion. I've lost few online friends to death and each time my friends family were able to get online and share the sad news.
I hope you all hear something about your online friend.

This is really interesting to me. I get not wanting your parents to have access to your accounts, though the concept of emergency access is valid. My ears perked up, however, as your concern about people whose opinions of you you care about -- your parents -- seeing the perverted stuff you've written online. So, serious question for you. Why write it in the first place? I haven't looked at your past posts, so I don't know what kind of things you write. But in general, why write anything aggressive or purposefully offensive at all? Why not more civil posts that get at the spirit of what you want to say through intelligent wit, rather than offensive "Perversion?" I'm a big proponent of more civility on the Internet, so this is just really interesting to me.
shareI agree with you, Hilary. Nothing online is private anymore anyway. I would never write something I would want to hide from anyone. I say what I mean & if you can't stand up for what you say and stand by it without shame then don't say it at all. Unfortunately many people hide behind the computer these days and come across in a more aggressive way they do in real life.
There are also some people who don't want their husband or wife to have access to not only their accounts online but also bank accounts. This concerns me. If you can't trust your spouse then why are you married to them or sleeping next to them at night?
I will bet you money that below my comment you will see a few very offensive & uncivil posts directed at me. Feel free to look at the posters posting history and you will see they have a long history of posting such posts.
