>>>Are we moving again? Let me know! <<<

I may bookmark it and peek in, but I, for one, have no plans on "moving" again.

Every other day, I hear of a new site, with someone proclaiming, "This is the one."

I frequent "MovieChat.org" and "imdb2.freeforums.net," reputedly two of the better ones out there, and other than "general conversation," they're both DEAD.

While "imdb2's" problem is that it has no dedicated board for each movie, TV show, and actor, the biggest overall problem on ANY of these boards is LACK OF TRAFFIC.

The IMDB community is so splintered and split up among several different sites (and some people have probably even given up entirely), that nothing will ever be like IMDB again -- or it will take years.

We've stayed together because we made an effort. But, I look at some boards (e.g. The Big Bang Theory) that had DOZENS of posts a day, and they are down to one post in the last ELEVEN DAYS!

IMDB, those pricks!

Yup, the days of the CFB and the JJ boards on IMDB are seemingly forever gone, and no amount of new forums will ever replace them. Everyone is scattered and there's no way that everyone will post on just one forum.

Out of all of the forums I really like the imdbarchive board as it has archived all of the old IMDB threads and we can even reply on the older threads but surprisingly not many are posting on that forum, most likely because they don't know about it. I even added the Chrome extension from that forum so now when I go on IMDB the message boards are still on there!

So for now I'll check in on this forum and the other one but it's like you said, Gubbs - nothing will ever be like IMDB again.

It's nice to have the forums archived, but MovieChat has that (for most boards). But, that doesn't solve the problem of lack of traffic. What good are the old threads, if there's no current activity?

I read about the Chrome extension, but I don't ordinarily use Chrome, so I don't want to get involved with it, just to see the old threads.

Again, seeing the old thread looks nice -- but doesn't solve the problem.

Just my opinion.....

The movie database seems to be getting a lot of promotion, but I just don't get it... Other than the name, it seems to suck.

I agree, Gubbs. I think I wikl stick around here. I miss jaysonperez, though. Hope he's OK. Hester, too.

Jason was quite enthusiastic about the move to IMDB 2.0, and then the move to here. Let's hope he's just been busy.
