*****MUSIC at the end of every episode ?????*******

At the end of every episode, during the credits, a fantastic tune could be heard, anyone????

reply

That was the theme music for the show written by composer Christophe Beck.

I'm a bit late, but ... I think it might actually be a sample of a jazz tune, because I've heard a longer version on the radio here, but haven't actually caught the name of the song.

Beck recently launched his official website; you can hear the main title music in much imporved sound quality versus the YouTube videos. Sadly, there are no score cues from the series up. Site:

Forget the Christophe Beck theme as it should be seen as a rip off based upon the basic sound of Herbie Hancock's Cantaloupe Island as stated by others in this forum/message board. Listen to the first and last minute of this and there's little doubt this was at least a source of inspiration.

Had to add my 2 cents here. Thanks to posters alerting us to the Cantaloupe Island track by Herbie Hancock, I was able to see that the F/X series theme was in fact inspired from a band named Us3 who sampled Herbie's beat for their tribute song named Cantaloop (Flip Fantasia).

It's unmistakable. Hope that helps. : )

It was pretty good but I don't see how a track not widely known as an instrumental can inspire the sound of a piece that already uses Herbie Hancock's work as a basic starting point.

Although I will give you this the VOCAL version also featuring Rahsaan And Gerard Presencer DOES sound about right since it is based on the earlier Hancock version.

Since this track from Us3 (Geoff Wilkinson et. al.)is from 1993 after being granted access to the archives of Blue Note Records you have a point, though probably not the definitive answer to this as most people will still credit Cristophe Beck for the series ending theme.
