Why didn't gary.....

I know it adds to the suspense and the headache for Gary to get things done, but why didnt he have one person in the PD who he told about the paper. I know he went to Crumb a lot but he never actually told him how he knew the stuff he knew. He told lots of other people. Just never made much sense

They'd probably just take it from him every morning, and then we wouldn've have had a show, now, would be? :)

reply

Well, maybe he could've just told them something vague about him knowing but not HOW. After a few cases, they'd have to believe him. There'd be no way he could fake a bunch of near accidents. I imagine if they had a regular cop character, they'd have gone there eventually if given the chance. I know Person of Interest has sort of taken this road with telling trusted cops that you have a way, but not exactly what that way is.

He did try to be vague about he knew and he solved several cases for the pd and they still thought he was crazy, not all there, and some even thought he had a hero complex. Once Crumb left the force and became a private investigator he did listen to Gary a lot more and said he didn't want to know how he knew the things he knew. Early Edition was a great show why try to question it now. I rewatch early edition every year or so I love it!!

Chuck always wanted Gary to play the stock market or win the lottery but Gary always figured that material gain wasn't why he received the paper.

I always found thought to be too idealistically naive myself.

I wondered that as well.
I felt like he could have trust Crumb esp. when Crumb retired from the force. But...

I HATED that the little boy and his mother found out. I couldn't stand them. lol.

"Do you even remember what you came here to find?"

I would have told them that a close relative was a psychic and I would get visions. Eyerolls all over the place until the third or forth time you were right. I would even gone to the police for a carefully picked crisis that was neither major enough to make me get thrown in the loony bin or so minor that nobody cares.
