There is an online seller (who seems to regularly change its identity), linked to Amazon.com, offering both seasons on eight discs as a "boxed set". You can always tell this seller by the fake link to reviews of the boxset that appear on the page with this item. Unfortunately, these are bootleg copies recorded off the Hallmark Channel. The discs are generally low quality, but usually acceptable, DVD-Rs.
The Hallmark Channel logo is always visible and there are promos for other programming played over the end credits (which is too bad as I have always enjoyed listening to the outstanding theme music by W.G. Snuffy Walden). Also occasionally there are snippets of the Hallmark logo that were not completely edited out from the preceding commercial break as well as spots where the program content "freezes" momentarily, although the audio is generally unaffected.
It is too bad that CBS didn't see fit to release these themselves as a manufactured on demand disc as Warner Archive did with the TV series, Alice. Of course, we can always hope.
There are a few companies taking over distribution rights. Some are reputable, others are less so. Shout never provides any extras but the episodes usually look adequate to good. VEi is releasing pretty good material, also. Be cautious with Echo Bridge and Mill Creek. They are both known for sub par quality products.
shareI'm sure this particular outfit hasn't any legitimate claim to reproduce or distribute this program. In fact, there is nothing on the packaging or the discs to identify the "manufacturer".
shareCBS is setting up a pay streaming service, on which it's launching the new Star Trek series next year... so maybe they'll include full access to old CBS series like Early Edition to sweeten the pot. We can hope, right?
