I just began watching this and had to go to work. I know the father was killed, but did she ever find her brother?

Yes she does. Or rather her son goes on his honeymoon to Europe and goes into Gerhard's art gallery. Gerhard recognizes the family ring on the son's wife's finger. Gerhard goes to NYC with them for Christmas.
