Before or After?

I know that the show was MADE after the movie, but I've seen a couple of episodes and it seems more like the show is SET before the movie...

Sort of like a prequel.

I dunno, it's just my perception -- anyone else?

I have no idea. *sigh* I just hope it's before since I really liked the ending of Cher and Josh getting together.

I don't remember much of the show because it was years ago, but I'd guess it's before.

Im pretty sure it's before because Ms. Guist is a guidance counceler in this show and in the movie a tecaher so its probally before.

Hmmmmmm. The trouble with 'before' would be that Cher was sixteen in the movie. In the final season she was eighteen. In all honesty, though the show was based on the movie. I think they made the show like the movie never happened, a few examples would be the fact that Cher and Josh never got together. Plus he was written out of the show in the later years, so there wouldn't have been a chance for them to get together. Also how would Sean become Lawrence and Coach Diemer become Miss Stooger all of a sudden? Just a few things to think about.

In the show Mrs. Geist is married to Mr. Hall, just like how the movie ended. Also in some episodes, isn't Cher 15?

i thought she was 15 in the movie coming up for 16..

They don't show her birthday in the movie, but she had her driver's test which means she turned 16 during the movie.

Then- a place in time.
Than- preference between one or the other.
