This show is awesome!

Have been watching it on LiveStream with some friends and I really love it! The four ghosts are much more fleshed-out (no pun intended, I swear) than they were in the movie. It's really interesting to see all the different sides of their personalities, such as Casper's snark and moments where Stretch doesn't come across as a complete jerk. The voice-acting is pretty good too, although I'm not a big fan of the designs or altered personalities of the Harveys. Kat comes across as a spoiled brat 90% of the time and Dr. Harvey seems like almost a parody of himself, but I guess it could be worse. At least they bring humor and plot to the show, unlike Ms. Banshee (whose character really irritates me).

The constant shattering of the fourth wall is a nice touch, along with the adult humor they manage to sneak in there. I'm really shocked by some of the stuff they've gotten away with (there was an episode where they alluded to an orgy!), but in a good way. It kind of reminds me of Animaniacs... man I miss the 90s, and I especially miss 90s era Casper.

Random side-notes: The airheaded comedy Fatso brings to the cartoon makes me think of a much more mean-spirited, less innocent version Cat from Victorious. Love the character, but man did they dumb him down for this show. I also found they're really inconsistent with the different levels of cruelty Stretch is capable of, but I like it. Fits his character and is really funny to watch. So glad they gave Stinkie more dialogue and personality than what we saw in the movie, too, and that Casper is less of a doormat. Spooky and Poil are fun additions as well.

I agree. This show is fantastic. Although I do agree about some of the character changes being unnecessary. Still, I always thought Kat here came off as always grumpy rather than spoiled. I suppose it shouldn't come off as a surprise that it was reminiscent of Animaniacs, considering that some of the writers from that show worked on this show, including Slappy Squirrel herself, Sheri Stoner.

Yeah, I suppose you're right about Kat's characterization. Either way I think they screwed her up, though. She may have been sarcastic in the movie, but she never struck me as mean-spirited at all. It's like they didn't know what to do with her, because during some episodes she was very supportive of the ghosts while in others it seemed like she absolutely resented their presence in her life. Yeah, I heard about that! I thought that was really cool. I wish that Sheri wrote more of the episodes on this show so there wouldn't be so many plot holes and out-of-character moments.
