Since Season 1 has been released on DVD...

Will Universal release the other seasons?

Judging by the fact season 1 came out on DVD about five or six years ago now, I doubt it. Which is a shame, because the show is still funny as ever and deserves more recognition. Definitely one of my favourite cartoons right now.

I'm afraid I now share the same doubts too. I can certainly think of at least 2 reason why.

1.) Poor sales of the first 2 volumes of Season 1.
2.) Bad timing for releasing 90s cartoons onto DVD. This is also cited as why it took so long for the most recent volumes of Animaniacs and Tiny Toons to get released.

Since both DVDs can now be found easily at BigLots! for just $3 and the $5 bin at Wal-Mart, you'd think that would increase the chances of the other seasons to be released on DVD at least a little.

Maybe Universal will license it to another company, such as Shout! Factory, in the near future.

I wonder if the DVDs would have sold more copies with better advertising? I live in Canada, and I've never seen the show being sold in a store before. What's even more disappointing is the fact it's so difficult to find episodes online, which means even less exposure for The Spooktacular New Adventures. It feels like a huge waste.

Sorry I'm days late in replying but it probably could have. Come to think of it, I don't think there was any advertising put it into the first 2 DVD sets at all, though I could be wrong.

Universal also released some episodes from seasons 2 and 3 onto VHS back in the late 90s, but they've been out of print for a good while. It also doesn't help that the tapes happen to be copy-protected, which means they can't be transferred to DVD-R discs by ordinary means. Although along with the aforementioned tapes, I also have a VCR capture card, so I guess it doesn't really bother me as much.
