I Googled the production company that made the show - MTM. I found a piece of old news from 10 years ago. Aparently the company was sold and its library of over 3000 TV episodes has been split between FOX TV and Saban TV. The question is which of the two media giants got hold of the rights to "The Cape" and what are their release plans.

FOX usually milks everything they have in their archives for all it's worth, so my bet is that the show got stuck with Saban.

According to the "Save The Cape" website (www.the-cape.com) it went first to Fox, then to Disney.

But I thought 20th Century Fox still owns the MTM library, before and after News Corporation (now known as 21st Century Fox, Inc.) and Saban, Inc. (now known as Saban Capital Group LLC) sold what is now known as ABC Family to the Walt Disney Company.

Whatever entity acquired the archives/rights to this show has obviously realized why the show was cancelled in the first place: too costly to produce, limited viewership/audience share and little to no cooperation from NASA. If the cost to make this show available online and/or on DVD exceeds their probable Return-On-Investment (ROI), they might never proceed with such distribution plans. Sorry.
