When was the first time you saw Beast Wars?

I remember the first time I watched Beast Wars it was in 1996 on DirecTV on Pay Per View. I remember it like it was yesterday I was at my grandparents home with the family just for a visit and My Dad was playing around on the TV when we came across Beast Wars we saw a preview of one of the later episodes but we order the two part pilot episode on Pay Per View and I remember being in awe by the episode and it begin to become my favorite TV show on TV and of course collect the action figures

Now looking back on it Beast Wars was the shot in the arm Transformers needed and I'm glad to have seen a classic show, I like to know when was the first time you watch Beast Wars?

We didn't get Transformers shows in my country until 2004, so I couldn't experience it when it was still airing. The only way I could have watched it was through some German TV station that showed the first season, but I don't think that channel was available where I lived.

But on the internet, I saw people singing praise of a certain animal-themed Transformers cartoon, and all that talk whetted my interest. It was around 2006 when I came across download links for the first six episodes. My first reaction was what you'd expect from someone who's never heard of Beast Wars before and only had a faint understanding of the franchise:
"Man, this CGI looks like ass!"
"Dude, Optimus is a gorilla, WTF?"
"What's so great about this show again?"
So I pretty much gave up and watched the G1 show instead. After I was through with that, I went back to Beast Wars because I thought why not. Thankfully by that time downloads for the entire series were easy to come by.

And yeah, as I saw the story and character evolve, it got me hooked and it's been my favorite TF show ever since. Lost count of how many times I've rewatched it. The series does start out pretty slow, but I've also come to appreciate the simplicity of the early episodes, and I don't really mind the crude graphics either. They add to the show's charm and the writing still holds up pretty well.

My parents had bought me a few Beast Wars toys. I thought they were pretty cool. Then one day, I was flipping through the channels and saw that it was also a cartoon. I remember liking it a lot. The CGI was a big part of it since it really helped the show have its own identity. Even to this day, I still like the cgi.

Let's be bad guys.

I had a few of the toys when they came out. This was before the cartoon came out. But I didn't watch the show because I was one of those Transformers fans that didn't like the change. Truck not Monkey right. Then one weekend I was home from college and saw that an episode was on and it was the season 1 finale.
I was floored and hooked. It was an awesome episode. Voice acting was great and all of a sudden I had to see the rest of season one.
I own all 3 seasons on dvd and still watch it to this day.
I do think it is the best Transformers series so far with an epic storyline.
And Primal is one of my favorite characters in all of the series.

Can't remember the exact date, but it was in the late 90s for sure on TV.

Honestly, I cannot remember what channel I first saw it on. But I remember that it was early in the morning before school some time in the late 90's. I think it was part of a programming bundle called "the power block" or something. I remember a hand pulling down a switch that turned on the logo of the programming block. It was a bunch of action cartoons and Beast Wars was one of them. I was in grade school, I remember that much. I was instantly hooked! I even remember the episode too. I thought it was the most amazing thing I ever saw. I had no idea what the cartoon actually was though. I asked all the kids at school about it and no one had heard of it. I slowly introduced kids to it and we would play Beast Wars at recess. Haha.

I remember being in TRU and looking at a TON of the bubble deluxes on cards... (only around $8 each) and I though these things look terrible... outloud.. a woman behind me starts telling me about the show and good it is and that she watches it with her little boy.
My cousin claimed be told me about it first... but I DO NOT recall that. But it came on every Saturday morning fairly early at first after Sailor Moon... but SM was quickly changed to Pokemon. So trying to record BW on times I'd miss it the VHS recorder would pick up the Pokemon rap before BW would start. And I think it was still in Season 1. Miss bitting Ben Yee's old web site too and being apart of that message board back then too. Fun times...and yes I did break down and buy. .. MANY of the figures!

It was in 1996, when I was 6 years old. I think the first episode I saw was the one about the standing stones. I very quickly became a huge fan of the show, and I remember watching it religiously at 7:00 every morning before school.

Started getting the action figures too. Any time I could get my parents to take me to Toys R Us, I'd get another Beast Wars toy. I'd get some for Christmas too. I ended up obtaining most of them, though sadly I missed a few. I never ended up getting Optimus' original, pre-transmetal gorilla form. Or Scorponok, which I always wanted. I somehow ended up with transmetal Rhinox but not the original Rhinox that was actually in the show. But I got most of the characters' action figures. I actually still have them in a box in a closet, 20 years later.
