Did Eric really have a recovery?

I always hoped he didn't. I enjoyed the show then (and still watched it weekly as it went downhil_, and still do now despite the Stephen Collins situation (though I watch it in somewhat of a different way now as a result), but I'd like to believe that Eric did lie just because it would have at least been more realistic than him having a miraculous recovery after a dream.

I know the ending is really left up to viewers interpretation, and speculation about it all. After all, they don't really say for sure that he's okay. Eric says that, but we never hear a doctor say that.

Personally.. I don't believe that he's okay. Something about his eyes when he looks in the mirror of the RV when they are about to drive away.. To me, his eyes say it all. I don't know how much time he may have had left, but I do believe he was dying. At least, that's the way I see it.

Every time I watch the finale, it makes me so sad.. I just don't buy the whole act of him being fine. All throughout the show, Stephen Collins has never seemed to be "acting" in scenes. I've always thought he came off very natural. But not that episode.. It's like "Eric" was putting on an act for his loved ones, and it shows.

I take it at face value. However, I wouldn't put it past Eric to lie about this. He has a pattern of lying to his family when he's scared they can't handle the truth.

I'll see how I feel on my next rewatch in about 10 years. Lol.

That being said, I just watched the whole series for the first time. When it was on, I'd watched the first 5 seasons, but I stopped watching for some reason.

After hearing all the bad talk about season 11, I was surprised at how much I actually enjoyed it. It was a nice show.
