I'm a fan of Raveena Tandon, who I think has been terribly underrated over the years. When I saw the cast of this movie, I knew I had to see it. I was well-rewarded. The movie is pretty silly at the outset, but I love to laugh so that was no problem for me. Then it has some pretty steamy parts, especially one song. Finally, it has some pretty good action sequences, especially the climax.
And for a final credit to Ramesh Sippy, it is the only movie of its kind where I've seen an action sequence with both the star and a supporting female character in the action sequence. I always cheer when I see that. In the climax of Madhuri Dixit's movie, Ram Lakhan, where Dimple Kapadia picks up an automatic weapon and starts pegging bad guys. Somewhere I have captures of that scene because it tickled me so much.

Plot of Zamaana Deewanna is two gang leaders who used to be friends who are now enemies and are constantly having gun battles. The cops, with the advice of a police psychologist, try to get a Romeo-Juliet thing going. This leads to a story line full of progress and regress. Turns out an inlaw has fomented the whole thing, which only gets found out late in the movie. So the plot falls in the "scheming relative tries to grab family wealth" category, sorta like Raja Hindustani and Beta.

Anyway, my recommendation is to see it. For me its 8/10, but others might think a little less of it.
