'Fortune and glory, kid.'

Seems this film, in which Indy abandons the search of the artifact because he's ashamed to be searching for it for selfish reasons, contradicts the famous line from "Temple of Doom," -- "[We're doing this for] fortune and glory" --which indicates that he's certainly all for selfish motivations in the name of archeology. Thoughts?
