Are there any connections between the three movies ?

I don't really see the link between Xtro 1, Xtro 2 : the Second Encounter and Xtro 3 : Watch the Skies, except they are all about extraterrestrials and were made by the same director...

Other than all being trash, no. The second one was the only one worth watching.

Funny, I think the third was the best! But aside from that all three were rip-offs from movies which were successful at the time... The first one was kind of the evil Brother of E.T. ("Not all aliens are friendly" was the ad on the german movie poster back in 1983), the second one canibalized James Camerons ALIENS in style and tone but lacking any of the suspense of this movie, and the third - in my opinion the most succesful in it's effort - relies heavily on McTiernans PREDATOR. So, in my opinion, the entire X-TRO series has no Continuity in the storyline of it's three installments but was about making a clone copy of the sci-fi-Hit of the season to make some bucks on the way.

Oddly enough director Davenport owns the rights to the name "Xtro" but not to the original story, so it's simply a matter of copyright issues as to why he's made two sequels that really have no connection to the first.

In fact rumor has it that as soon as he wraps up a couple of other film projects he's going to do a #4, so unless he's worked something out with the story's owners that will also be unrelated.

same director wow didn't really know that I should have pay more attention. I'm not going to like I actually enjoy part 3 because the alien was laughable going around killing people xtro 2 was just plan stupid.

reply

no not really,

just three stories about random Alien encounters.

the same director is the only real link.

Ok you didn't like the film,
But why so much hatred over a movie?
You need a man hug
