i would not dare to say it is THE best movie. But I have watched it more than 10 times, which I have never done such thing before. The movie by now is a legendary cult film loved by millions of Chinese, especially college students all over China, Taiwan, Hongkong, and so on.
sharei enjoyed it too, but i found there was far too little of sun wukong...
the monkey king is the coolest hero in the history of mankind.
seriously, every incarnation is awesome, even the not-so-good ones, like son goku in dragonball...

shareI've seen this movie so many times. Stephen Chow is awesome and so funny in it and Athena Chu is so beautiful as his love interest. The ending was very heart touching, I cried.

I love this movie so much thatt I am afraid of seeing it again. Both Chinese Odysseys I saw more than 6 months ago and I can still feel the emotions in my heart when thinking about them... 100% not a percent less.

without a question this is a cult film and considered by most Chinese fans as Chow's best work (although not the funniest).
So no one really know the song that played at the end of this movie? That sucks....(If you do, let me know...I'm desperate...every time I watch this freaking movie, I end up wanting that ending music but I have no idea where to even start looking for it)

shareProbably watched about 20 times or more now I'm 29 yr old. Stephen Chow is the best actor to portray Monkey and I love the heart wrenching relationship between him and Zixia (Athena Chu). Athena Chu is also gorgeous fitting to be a fairy (even in real life). I feel like watching it again now. Though every Chinese New Year, my local tv station will play this show. :)
