Notice The Names

There are so many people in this game that I've seen in other places after this movie. John Spencer who was Paulsen is on The West Wing. Peter Jason who is Admiral Wilford has been in lots of stuff. Robert Rusler who plays Seether was on a Star Trek episode last year. Francois Chou who's Vagabond was on a Stargate SG-1 episode a year ago. It's amazing. I love this game and have replayed it over 400 times. The music and movie sequences rule.

I bought the DVD of the game and put all the pieces in a chronological order and basicly made a 3 hours movie out of it.
Must be the 3rd time I said this lol. I enjoy watching it.

And yes, many many names with familiar faces.
Pliers should not be forgotten as well.
How about Casper van Dien in the beginning. You dont see him anywhere else in the game anymore.
And Dylan Bruno, click his name and you will remember seeing him in some movies.

reply

Yes, Pliers played by Richard Riehle who played Tom Smykowski in Office Space the funniest movie ever. The chick that played Panther posed nude or somethin I heard a few years ago. Casper Van Dien, yeah I remembered seeing him the 3rd time I played it and I was like, whoa he's from Starship Troopers. Have you ever watched the show The Shield? Walt Goggins who plays a cop in that show is listed as being in the game but I can't find him he's like Border World Pilot 3 or something.

reply

Maybe from the intro, or else in flight video display when you taunt pilots.

fast reply by the way. Normally these Wing Commander topics take ages to fill ;)

I would love to see this 3-hour movie! Is there any way you can upload it to yousendit.com or something to share for other people to see?

My email is [email protected] if you can.

Oddly enough, this would not be the only time I saw Robert Rusler playing a starfighter pilot who met a deadly end. He also played Lt. Warren Keffer, a Starfury pilot on Babylon 5...who, in his obsessive desire to prove the existence of what would turn out to be a Shadow ship, was killed by the Shadow vessel shortly after he got his proof.

reply

The guy who played Dekker was also on Star Trek 6 and an episode of Star Trek: Voyager, playing an officer on the USS Excelsior.

What the deuce!?

reply

Hawk and Vice Admiral Wilford play eachother's partners/collegues in Dreamscape (1983)

How cool is that!

reply

I'm surprised none of you have even mentioned John Rhys-Davies or Malcolm McDowell

Anyway, probably one of the best games i ever played, made me feel like i was actually a part of a galactic conspiracy. Wish they still made games like this with FMV instead of ingame cutscenes, with the right actors it can really make the game unforgettable

reply

I'm a McDowell fan. I've seen a lot of him and to me if I spot him I'm glued

but the other less known actors are not in many movies.

reply

Slightly off-topic, but in Wing Commander III, Flash is played by Josh Lucas. As in, "A Beautiful Mind" or "Around the Bend". :)

reply

yeah, ex-boyfriend of Salma Hayek and he's also in another movie which has "Radio" from WC3 in it -> http://uk.imdb.com/title/tt0256415/

Tim Curry did the voice of Melek

reply

Also, the actor who played Catscratch went on to play the Indian companion to the hero of "Le Pacte des Loups" (Brotherhood of the Wolves)

If you haven't seen that movie, its really worth it!

reply

And now Josh Lucas is taking up flying again in "Stealth."

Chris Mulkey (Hawk) was in one of the cops in First Blood. Panther played Lois Lane's sister in the first few episodes of Lois & Clark: The New Adventures Of Superman. Jason Bernard (Capt. Eisen) was in a few films, Liar Liar was his last before his untimely death. Everyone know Tom Wilson played Biff Tannen in the Back To The Future Trilogy. Robert Rusler I've only seen in Wierd Science and Vamp. Jeremy Roberts who played the Marine was in The People Under The Stairs, Star Trek VI and more recently guest starred on CSI. Catscratch went on to do a few low budget action and horror films. Vagabond played Shredder in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret Of The Ooze. Cant think of anymore. I left out John Rhys Davies, Malcolm McDowall and Mark Hamill for obvious reasons. Oh, and I've also seen Pliers in the Gary Sinise version of Of Mice & Men.

reply

Pliers (Robert Riehle) was also in Lethal Weapon 4. Francoi Chou (Vagabond) was one of the "Four Fathers" in that film, as well.

One of the films that Jason Bernard was in was "Blue Thunder"...which had, of course, Malcolm McDowall. Also, one of the unnamed senators at the beginning was someone I recognized from Blue Thunder, as well...the one that yells something like "The Border Worlds Militia is behind it!" was Sgt. Short (the man doing the loudspeaker announcing when Blue Thunder was revealed).

In another link to Superman, Tom Wilson was in an episode of Lois & Clark later in the series, working with John Spencer (Captain Paulsen).

And, of course, Casper Van Dien (Starship Troopers) was one of the Confed pilots somewhere in the game.

I think the only major thing Mark Dacascos (Catscratch) played in was "The Crow: Stairway to Heaven, even though that did not last long.

reply

Jesus! Only 1 person mentioned Tom Wilson! The bad guy from Back to the Future and I guess he was also there in Action Jackson as a police officer.
I liked his character so much, as a matter of fact I still have that as my ICQ name! Todd "Maniac" Marshall.

The best movie/game ever, I believe there is nothing that outbests this! Nothing!

reply

Oh yeah, and Robert Riehle also played a hilarious role in Office Space.

reply

Wasn`t "Hawk" in Twin Peaks as well? I think his role name was Hank or something... I can`t remember.

WC4 had many actors I like... Malcolm McDowell, John-Rhys Davies, Jason Bernard, John Spencer (he was so mean in WC4...!)...

reply

Let's not forget Privateer 2: The Darkening. Chris Walken, John Hurt, Jurgen Prochnow, David Warner and superstar Clive Owen are in that one.

Sadly, I haven't played that paticular game because it was never ported to any platforms. :(

reply

Yeah, Chris Mulkey was in Twin Peaks.

reply

Jurgen Prochnow and David Warner later went back to the WC Universe for the WC Movie.

And Chris Mulkey was also in Broken Arrow as a NEST Team member
