Camp genius

Anyone else out here who can't decide whether this film is great or totally ridiculous? I can only conclude that it's both at the same time. The supposedly serious money laundering plot "sabotaged" by the everyone-screwing/raping-everyone scenes makes Wild Side one of the best camp movies (though unintentionally so?) of the nineties.

It is very camp. The dialogue is terrible, the acting from Walken and Brauer is horrible, but it's still a watchable movie. I think that's down to Anne and Joan.

I think the director's cut is pure camp, and totally ridiculous, and although I should love it, I really didn't. The released version is much more conventional, and plays more smoothly as well. Personally I don't feel like this is a true director's cut, as it was his rough cut, and he was not done with it. One of the lost movies that we will never see as it was intended.
