About 40 mins in, Saul tells her he Lucy her in the hospital visiting and he knew her secret.
"The night you visited Peter, I was outside the door. I know the truth"
But given that he only saw her through the glass speaking to the comatose Peter - as any real fiancee would - how does he know the truth?

He either had his hearing aid turned up to full blast or he had Peter's room bugged. Anyway, he liked Lucy so who cares. His only concern was that she wouldn't hurt the family. The friendship that develops between Lucy and Saul is terrific and comical. He's out to save his Godson for becoming a full blown putz and he doesn't want to jeopardize Lucy's chances for saving Peter and bringing the Callaghan's back together.

I just watched this again the other night and it looks like the door to the room is open. When the camera pans back you can see no glass and then glass where Saul is.

There is no door at all to Peter's room, just a doorway. This is very common in ICUs (Intensive Care Units) because in case of a sudden event the doctors and nurses don't want to have to deal with a door.
