To be honest, i really liked the film. but there is one thing that is just so pathetically awful. firstly, jimmy left school at 16 right? early in the film he says to the girl (dunno her name) that hes been working in the brewery for 10 years, thus giving the impression he is 25 or 26 years old. now how on earth would a 25/26 year old man playing non league football be offered a trial let-a-loan a contract from a club like Sheffield Utd. Sure, theyre not in the top tier but they wouldnt scout players as old as 25/26

yeah youre right...ive picked up on that...just relax..its only a film..if you look to deep into it it kinda ruins the film

Some players get picked up at a later age...Take someone like lee Trundle. We only started to hear his name when he was 27 or so.

Also, a player weve just signed, Claude Davis went to preston from a small club when he was about 25...Its rare but it does happen

Tony Book of Man city didnt get signed until he was 30...was playing part time then! It does happen, back then possibly but not nowadays.

Kevin Phillips and also Ian Wright I believe didn't get spotted until they were 22/23! Crazier things have happened! If you've got it, you've got it !!

happens all the time.
not only in football but in many professions!
what about susan boyle! no one gave her a shot until simon gave her the nod!

plenty of sports players got past over in the first league and they get a shot later in life, that's why it's one of those inspirational moments in life.
a guy in the NHL got a shot in the majors just recently and the guy is 37!!
'things happen.

also it's a movie. come on...

its not as true story.

The plausability of the film may be suspect. But since it's about my team, Sheffield United, it's got to be scored 10/10 from me.

sillier still is that he was about 37 when he made this - he in no way looks 25!

it doesnt matter it's Sean Bean and he looks delicious in this, I don't think he looks his age, especially his body, he's 47 now and his body is still smokin!

On a day when I just watched this movie again for the first time in maybe 10 years, and also when Leicester are 5 points clear at the top of the Premier League, seems like a good moment to mention Jamie Vardy. He was playing for non-league Fleetwood until he was 25 years old, when he then signed for Leicester.

Oh, and Vardy, like Jimmy Muir, is also from Sheffield!
