I decided to time this movie and mark milestones:
Camille meets Petra 17 minutes into the movie and they have sex at 57 minutes into the movie, I know it was spread over a few days but this was the quickest lesbian fling I've ever seen aside from the "Leaper" episode of "Bliss" in that movie the women have sex within 2-3 hours of meeting. Talk about quickies

I like people with a serious attitude to film. I often use a stopwatch myself when analyzing a certain movie.
But I fail to see your point of view (which is probably my fault -- not yours)
The timespan is, as you say, a couple of days. Is this really a "quickie"? I mean we talk about *very* strong emotions here. Petra is turning Camille's world totally upside down. Should Camille "wait and see" and let it all slip out of her hands and her life?
I find the timing of events absolutely credible.
This is one of the best, warmest and loveliest movies ever made.

I used an old-fashioned VCR with a counter: all the above events started at 1324 and ended at 4346 and for that 3022 it was awesome; I had to leave the room when Reverend DeBoer interrupted Camille's make-out with Petra.

ps:I turned 30 on 03/19 so I am not a pedophile, I have been interested in same-sex relationships since a friend of mine revealed to me in high school that she was a lesbian.
If you think thats the quickest lesbian fling you cant have seen Better than Chocolate, they meet, are about to have sex but get inturuppted, and move in together, then have fun with body paints, hop in the shower together and get intrupted by one of their mums all in the same day.
That aside it is a good movie, if you just pretend that happened over a longer period of time.
Lol your right,Bound is another their all over eachother within the first 15-20 mins and it's only been like two days since they met.I think the timeline in this was fine.

Not to mention she was supposed to be straight, and involved/engaged with a man. Just how impulsive she must have been to do all of this in a matter of a few days.
shareShe was not straight, she was clearly a repressed lesbian. So it's not unrealistic that she would break that repression. It was shown to not be easy for her to do, but the attraction she felt for Petra coupled with Martin's pressure for her to marry, and her beloved dog dying broke her resolve, and she went with her feelings for the first time in her life. It was an emotional dam bursting, and it was shown realistically. It's easier for an emotionally fragile person to admit their feelings than a person who is not under pressure and grief.

shareYou're right. It's hinted at in the first scene in the movie when she's dreaming about swimming with a naked woman, and her dog comes licking her on the face and all she does is moan. She was definitely repressed, and living her true wishes out in her dreams.
