When I first watched this, aged 13, I fell in love with the film after this line, I'm watching it again for the first time in ages and it just made me laugh so much.

It's such an underrated film.

Heather Matarazzo was born on November 10th 1982. She grew up in Long Island, NY with her parents. She began acting at an early age and played the role of Helen Keller in a regional theater.

Welcome to the Dollhouse:
In 1996 she played the part of Dawn "Weinerdog" Weiner in "Welcome to the Dollhouse." Her character was treated cruelly by the other children, subjected to taunts, including "lez."

Princess Diaries:

In an interview with Bay Windows, Heather Matarazzo said, "For me I'd always known I liked women, I'd always known it as long as I could remember... [but] I never really knew the name for it... But when I was doing "Welcome to the Dollhouse" and that scene where they're like, 'Lesbo! Lesbo!' and I finally found out what lesbian meant, I was like, 'Actually, yeah, I am a lesbian.'"

About Coming Out:
"It was one of the most freeing experiences of my life, in that it gave me a sense of, wow, now I can fully be a part of the gay and lesbian community, and I don't have to be on the outskirts," Heather Matarazzo said in an interview with Bay Windows.

In season 4 of The L Word Heather Matarazzo played Stacy Merkin, a Curve magazine reporter who wrote a bad review of Jenny's book. Jenny spends the rest of the season stalking Stacy and her partner. The internet was all abuzz when Jenny called Stacy Merkin a vagina wig.
