Ben's wife Cindy is missing

Anyone know why Cindy is completely missing from this Waltons movie? It is as if Ben never had been married.

reply

It was on GMC just the other night and I noticed that myself.

I saw a bit of the Walton Wedding film the other night (also saw a bit of an earlier waltons TV movie) but I seem to remember Cindy being in one of them.. she was saying that Virginia had died, and she wanted another child...

does anyone know which one htat was please?

That would be A Walton Thanksgiving Reunion (1993), I'm watching it now.

Thank you! Do they adopt a child? I dont think I've seen that one except for a few minutes... but I thought that Cindy and Ben had 2 children, Virginia and a son... born towards the end of the TV series?

I've just seen some of Waltons Easter movie which appears to be set after JohnBoy's wedding, and is about the birth of his twin children... and Cindy doesn't seem to be in that one either.
Is Erin divorced as well? (lots of questions!)

Please could anyone answer?
I am sure that in an earlier "reunion movie" I think one that came out in the 1980s, Mary Ellen is newly married to Jonesey and she has an accident, and is told that she can't have children. forget how it all works out, but in Walton Wedding, I am sure that ME now a doctor has a small son who is NOT JOhn Curtis her son by Curt, but another one... and that she says to Olivia that Jonesey is off in Vietnam working as an advisor.... SO is her marriage on the rocks? Does she have other children by Jonesy or are they adopted or have the scriptwriters forgotten things - as they often do?

I am watching John-Boy's wedding. (Let me just say that I am at the part where John-boy and his fiancé got into a fight, and he jumped in the car and drove off when his mother called his name. Let me just say that if I did that to my mother today, she would still take me "out to the woodshed"!!!)

Anyway, I do think Mary Ellen and Jonesey got married and had a child together. I also think Jonesey had to go away to serve in the military because I seem to remember Mary Ellen being afraid that she would lose him the way she lost Curt. So I think the writers did remember some things from previous episodes.

One thing is for sure: Cindy is definitely missing from this episode and I have not even heard anyone mention her name. Ben has barely been in the house because he is hot water with his dad for getting the mill into some kind of business deal that his dad doesn't like. He and the other guy that works with him both agreed that John should fire them, and he said he is thinking about it. I have never seen John so mad. Guess I would have been too…

I am having a ball watching these old movies! This is feel good television at its best…they just don't make shows like the Waltons anymore.

Supposedly, Ben finally came out of the closet prior to John-Boy's wedding. Cindy divorced him and was never spoken of on Walton's Mountain again.
