Does anyone know..

I am trying to find the name of a movie I have seen which has a similar plot...it was probably made sometime between 1995 and 2005..

tags are: widow or single mom (could be an unwed girl also..I cant remember) in village/small town, an outsider (who is probably a war veteran...sorry I cant remember anything useful lol) who settles down in the village, guy starting to like the woman, the usual cliche of the local folks being wary of him at first, etc...

Please tell me the name of the movie if this plot sounds familiar to you..
