Good acting by Reeves

And old fashioned is exactly what they were going for in this movie. It works for me. As for Reeves, not many will share this opinion but I thought he did a fine job.

I think you mean, "Good acting compared to other Reeves attempts." It's sort of like saying, "Good smelling poop compared to other poop."

It was certainly odd casting. I mean, what is more modern than Reeves downplayed aspect, which is totally different then what you would see in a 1940s film.
