hahahahahahahahahah ahaha

did you see them with the ...wing thingys 'oh no the fog....lets all strap things to our arms, act like we're trying to fly and just look really stupid' hahahahaha classic movie moment really

reply

lol

Hi, does anyone know the name of the woman at the beginning of the film, the one who Keanu Reeves came home to and she was sat in her undies?

reply

Its Debra Messing or Grace Adler from Will & Grace.

reply

OK, the "wing thingys" they put on in the "fog" had a point. A frost had hit and to save the grapes, they had to light fires and fan the heat. They weren't trying to fly, they were trying to save their crop!

If you would've paid attention to what they were saying beforehand, you would've known this.

My family is from Italy and had grapes like that there and it's not a joke, they really do whatever they have to to save them, after all they do live off the land. (Plays well into movies too)

hehe yeh i kno why their doing it, but they still look totally funny.

reply

also i thought this: if they are supposed to be evenly spaced out and fanning the place, why the hell was keanu pressed up against her while doing it? i know...romance..blah blah blah... but you'd think her dad would be like "hey dumbass, why not space out here? we're trying to save the grapes, not get your mack on with my girl."

reply

At that point in the movie I was still willing to suspendi disbelief and get into the romantic thing and that image of the angel woman or butterfly woman actually worked for me ... but then the movie descended into total cornball fluff. I was embarassed for the actors.

Somebody's seen her. Somebody always sees a girl with $40,000.

So a historical vineyard owner really would have done something similar for a frost situation? With the wingy things? I'm curious about that. I wonder what they do now too...

reply

They still use wingy things. Only now they are towers with a fan on the top. They look like very small versions of wind turbines, only they consume electricity to turn the rotor, rather than vice versa.

reply

Just saw the movie. I thought the same thing.

reply

it was actually really important cause of the frost on the grapes..but i thought it had more meaning like..a bird..they were both teaching eah other to be free ..maybe i look to deep into movies xD but i liked it..i didnt think it was all that funny

"It's probably just a serial killer or something."

reply

It seems like most of you are looking at this scene through the eyes of a ten year old. "Teehee they look funny!" Too bad that has nothing to do with the plot and I'm sure they'd rather look funny than let their crops freeze over.

And another one obviously didn't get that scene. The symbolism was clear to me...but...

There was a reason to it .. it's something that they do .. maybe read and try to learn about things that you know nothing about .
