Blue-eyed, English-speaking Mexicans.

Where can I find these blue-eyed, English-speaking Mexicans outside of Movieland? I see them here, I see them on Mexican TV, I see Spanish-named celebrities that look white, and yet I look around in real life and can't seem to find them.

In real life, I see brown-eyed Mexicans who barely know basic English words. Where are the type shown in this movie? Are they hiding somewhere? Are they all hiding in Hollyweird?

Sounds like to me that you haven't traveled internationally much. There are plenty of blue eyed Mexicans in Mexico, as well as Spain, South America. My sons father- in- law is blue eyed and Mexican. . My dentist when I lived in Arizona was Mexican and blue eyed.

Since they lived in the United States and had lived in the United States for generations why wouldn't they also speak English?

As for eye color, as they were of Spanish heritage why couldn't they have blue eyes? It's not like Europeans don't have blue eyes.

I'd say a more accurate way to phrase that would be "In real life, all I pay attention to are brown-eyed Mexicans who barely know basic English words."

Wow, lol! Seems you haven't been around much. There are truckloads of "blue eyed, English speaking" Mexicans. My former father-in-law happened to be one of them. He looked like frickin' Johnny Carson, and was born in Mexico, of a Spanish-and-other-European bloodline which migrated from Europe to Mexico. As did many.

European settlers way back also mixed with what are known as the mestizo Mexicans, which would be the indigenous bloodlines that do have the dark eyes and skin. So now, you get it all in Mexican people.

As for speaking English, not every person in the US of Mexican descent is an undocumented worker fresh from crossing the Rio Grande.

As for blue eyed and even blond and fair skinned Mexicans...you find them all over Mexico...especially in the northwest and western parts of Mexico and southern Mexico City. Mexico is about 25% of European (white) background, 2% Arab (mainly from the Levant) and about 0.7% Jewish, mainly Ashkenazi and Sephardic...all those give Mexico a good chance of having many blue eyed Mexicans. Around 65% of Mexicans are mestizos, so made up of mixed Europeans me indigenous background and many of those (around 35%) are actually "castizos" so they have 75% or more European background so they have a big chance of having blue or green eyes and even being blond and even fair skinned...so yeah, millions of Mexicans have blue eyes, some are even blond and many are fair skinned. Mexico is a beautiful mosaic of cultures mixing the indigenous, European, Arab, East Asian and African/Afro-Caribbean cultures into what today makes Mexico. So please don't generalize. You only show off your ignorance to the world.
