Does anyone know if Karen Khan, the Asian woman who played Chris' wife was playing Mara's biological mom in this. If so, I would think that they would have gotten a mixed child (Asian/Caucasian)to play their daughter Mara. I mean the little girl doesn't even look mixed and doesn't look like she could be Chris' and Karen's offspring in reality, let alone in the movie. I know it's just acting, but they could have been more realistic. So I wonder if Karen is suppose to be Mara's biological mom in the movie(I know not in real life) or was she playing Mara's stepmother. Can some please let me know. I will appreciate it.

Yeah. All the mothers in the movie was just a surrogate to those children. Something "used" them so they can be born into this world. In fact if you listen to the conversation between Dr Susan Verner (Kirstie Alley) and Dr Alan Chaffee (Christopher Reeve), all the children's DNA are similar, as if they are siblings born from the same parents.

Yes, those women were not mothers to those children, they were merely hosts.
