Clearly setting up a sequel

I have to assume that Carpenter thought the world would be begging for another of these (the original Village of the Damned had a "sequel" of sorts called "Children of the Damned")and that was why David had to escape. I enjoyed the various theories under the "David is Evil" headline. I doubt his mother can really tame him however. I don't see a happy ending coming their way

Carpenter isn't known for enjoying sequels, so I can't help disagreeing with you!
