at the beginning of the movie, the old man is sick and dying and agrees todo "the walk". this was not what i thought it was. the old man guts himself and walks around a pillar stringing his entrails around it much as someone would string lights around an xmas tree. was this a common viking practice or something just made up for the movie?
shareIt is mentioned in Sagas and along with the Blood Eagle was something that would happen ,but not very often.
shareI've heard of the Blood Eagle plenty of times but never of the Walk (at least not before this movie). I'm glad that was actually in the Sagas though. It makes this film truer to the Sagas, despite not being based on any stories in them.
