Under Siege 3?

What do we want to see?

I think its about time Ryback was on a plane

reply

I would give anything to see Under Siege 3 made! Setting it on a plane would make sense (boat - train - plane) but it's been done so many times before.
I'm sure it's only a matter of time before Seagal realises that for him to get back on top he must go back to the classic action film. I can hardly wait!

Perhaps they can throw in some snakes to heighten the tension

Get back on top? When was he on top in the first place?

I think on a coach full of pensioners going to Eastbourne would make a good US3.

There's always a twisted reason why someone like you post nasty comments about a person you can't even begin to know personally. I wonder what your's is. Did you write him a begging letter and got no response or something? Maybe the fact that you have no brain (your post clearly suggests that) explains it. You are indeed unique, the only one who thinks he was never on top.Even the worse kind of anti Seagal posters on here never goes that far. You're just another anti Seagal twit. You know something, he's still on top, you fool.

Steven Seagal plays a guy called Stephen Seagull, a marine ornithologist. After the events of the first film (the second film being revealed as "just a bad dream") he goes into retirement and changes his name, with hilarious consequences.

Terrorists take over the bird sanctuary for no obvious reason. Is Stephen Seagull a bad enough dude to save the chicks (birds)?

There is also a scene with a lawnmower.

That is also the tagline. Dont reply right now because I want to send this to the studios first and see what they think.

How about an underground military base?? Suppose Ryback and ADMRL. Bates were disscussing tactics to wipe out a major enemey compound, when an major villian from that compound takes the base over to detonate a nuclear reactor on U.S. soil. Ryback would have to take action and try to find a way to alert the outside forces to their plans, while kiking some bad guy ass. I figure its a good start.

reply

Under Siege 3 should be set at the White House; he is the one of the chefs -- the White house gets taken over by [military coup|terrorists|other faction] and Seagal has to take them all out.

Perhaps they could throw in some turncoat Secret Service agents, or even the President who was in on the coup the whole time -- or something like this.

Perhaps they could have a training dojo where Seagal takes on various Secret Service agents, or have a knife fight in the Oval Office between Seagal and Evil President / Military leader person.

Hahaha. Seagal never was on top. He wasn't even in the middle. Unless you consider his films comedy.

I don't think the 'train' idea can be beat. This movie delivers it all already - there's nothing left. Anything else would be something 'less', going backwards, trying to milk more out of an empty carton.

It's like Austin Powers and the Goldmember, or The Matrix 'sequels' (I don't consider that movie to have a sequel).

Besides, what could be better place than a train? Train offers you all kinds of excitement that other things just can't give.

1) Gorgeous, ever-changing scenery with lots of mountains and nature
2) Nice outdoors action scenes
3) Constant sense of movement
4) A huge area, with lots of different train cars for visual and atmospherical variety
5) The fascination that always comes with trains (there are probably more train-nerds than there are airplane-nerds)
6) Sense of space, open, wide areas
7) Amazing chase scenes (the potential with a train is vast - you can't chase a plane with a car (except in "Knight Rider" and in bad movies), you can't chase a boat with a helicopter (well, you could, but it'd be kinda pointless, because boats are slow, and they have nowhere to hide, but trains have tunnels to hide in and such) - cars chasing the train, helicopters chasing the train, stealth fighters chasing the train - it's all done on this movie, but would not really work with any other kind of scenario.

And airplane would be a smaller, confined, boring area, without any changing scenery (unless it'd be flying low, and even then, the scenery would go by too fast), no 'other compartments' or 'other train cars', and not necessarily even a sense of movement (just clouds passing by slowly - have you ever had a sense of speed or movement in an airplane, besides in the vicinity of land, as in take-offs and landings?).

There would not be much variation in an airplane, and there'd be a claustrophobic feeling compared to trains. You can't really film airplanes in as an interesting way as you can trains (there are so many things you can do with trains - restaurant cars, kitchen cars, passenger cars, bedroom cars, and so on and so forth - in an airplane, everything is very tightly packed in comparison).

If you had an underground base, there'd be no sense of movement or open wide sceneries etc., and of course no fascination of trains, but of course there could be more variety in the different kinds of rooms you could have there.

I just don't think you can top the idea or maybe even execution of this movie, unless you use space ships and other planets and such. And while I would like that (if done right), it wouldn't really fit the down-to-earth-style of Casey Ryback movies.

I mean, let's face it, Steven Seagal's characters are always some chefs or retired ex-chefs that happen to also be some kind of NAVY SEALs at the same time, or something pretty close to that. That wouldn't really work very well in multiple-planets-type of a story.

No, I think the train idea was the best they could have come up with, and what they did with it, was pretty exhaustive. There's really nothing more that could be done with that idea.

The first movie was boring - no sense of movement, just a boring ship, no interesting sceneries, etc.

But they got everything right for the second movie - it's fun, it's hilarious, and aside from the misandry, it's a great, funny flick to watch when you are in the right mood and don't want to take a movie seriously.

For some reason, I can't really talk much against this movie, it's just such a funny creation, and very entertaining. There's just something about this movie that doesn't exist in a lot of other movies - maybe it has something to do with the atmosphere, the nature sceneries, the mountains, the trains, or just how funny Steven Seagal is in this one, I don't know. But I just can't fault this movie too much..

I know how faulty it is, and I know how stupid and moronic many of its plot points and clichés are, but .. I just find myself enjoying it every time I watch it. I can't really explain it.

reply

Already been done, more or less, in "Executive Decision". Seagal made a cameo as the SEAL leader who sacrifices himself to get the team on board the plane.

There's only so many ways to fight aboard a plane. We've already seen "Passenger 57", "Turbulence", "Flightplan" and "Snakes On A Plane"

What more can be done? Have Casey Ryback miraculously walk on top of the plane and shoot the villains through the windshield?

They already had plans for Under Siege 3. It was to take place on an airliner with muslim terrorists. However I believed they scrapped it because it is not on IMDb anymore.

Under Siege 3: High Territory

Plot: Ryeback has been cloned and there are now two of them. The cloning process was accelerated and an adult clone the same age as ryeback was formed. The clone turns evil and captures Katherine Hiegl's character from the second film. He has her on a plane and is heading to his secret base in the pacific. The real Ryback is informed before takeoff and he sneaks on the plane and takes seat 57. The evil Ryeback rapes Heigl's character and then kills her and puts her in the overhead storage bin. (The rape scene is for the guys) The two Ryebacks fight each other and as they fight, the good Ryeback tells the other one to, "Always bet on White!" AS they duel snakes start to emerge and attack the Ryebacks. The Ryebacks form a team and kill the snakes. The pilots were killed by the evil Ryeback and the plane has been losing altitude for several minutes. The good Ryeback kills the clone minutes before the plane crashes into the Pacific. Ryeback survives and inflates a raft as he watches the plane sink in a field of wreckage and fire. Ryeback is rescued by the U.S.S Missouri and meets CMD Krill who puts him in the brig. Ryeback learns he is in a time loop and that he is aware of the past, but the others are experiencing it for the first time. Upon learning this, Ryeback kills Krill and waits for the terrorists to board with Miss July 89. He kills the terrorists and then makes love to Miss Tate in the kitchen.
Ryeback has broken the loop by killing the terrorists and is now on a difference timeline. He is promoted to CMD by the captain and sails around the world nailing hot woman and wondering if he had raped his niece since his clone did. Credits roll with a shot of Seagals ponytail moving in the breeze.

Maybe the third can be like the first die hard, Casey in a very tall building killing terrorists or maybe he can run through the city desarming bombs from a guy who likes playing games. Remember Ryback knows alot of bombs.

There was an "Under Siege 3" planned for around 2003-04 but Warner Bros. wasn't interested. Seagal was asked about it. A third-party company wanted to buy the rights to the franchise but that never happened. It was supposed to have taken place aboard a plane but Hollywood has placed a moratorium on hijack/hostage films being a sensitive subject from 9/11. Besides, it is now a world policy since 9/11 that any planes that are hijacked will be automatically destroyed. Seagal is no longer under contract with Warner Bros. He is now under contract with Sony, making those crappy straight-to-DVD movies.

reply

in response to above-

i hated the idea of it being on a plane, but now in the post 9/11 world i think it could be cool if the greater threat was from the government shooting down the plane.

i dont feel i should elaborate on a plot line any more, as it would only sound tired and stale.

reply

I think the third movie should be set on a space shuttle that terrorists have taken over and Seagal just happens to be on as a guest chef trying out new recipes in space. It would be his ultimate challenge as summed up in the movie's tagline: "You can't kick when you're weightless."

reply

of course, given segals steeady increase in girth, he would have to be weightless by the time this came out, so as to raise his leg, lmao.

reply

considering his current weight, Seagal could play a battleship in US3.

btw, loved part 1 and 2, but I am afraid it is 10 years too late for part 3.
