I have a few vivid personal memories of Mitch Green, as he used to get high right across the street from where I lived in Harlem, circa 1985. Around that same time when I worked as a messenger, I saw him walking around 52nd Street & 7th Avenue with one of the finest women imaginable. She had on a t-shirt which read, "Models Love Boxers," or something to that effect. I snickered inside because I knew what that was really all about, but I also cried inside because I was just a skinny kid making minimum wage with no shot at a woman like that.
The last time I saw Mitch Green was a far cry from that midtown walk. Just a few years ago, I saw him beg his way onto a crosstown bus on 125th Street and then argue with an elderly woman (over what, I don't remember) as he got off the bus. Talk about how the mighty have fallen.... so to speak.

Not sure Rooney ever won that case, I think he settled for a pay out, I do know he had over a million in the bank at times, and he gambled it all away in casino's, he's back to middle class life now.
