These guys are my heroes!

Any and all African Americans that fought in world war two, Vietnam and Korea are my heroes. I have A LOT of respect for these men (and women)that fought for our country when they were treated like *beep* at home.

This movie and all the movies about African American troops are awesome.

There are some great articles about them printed at world war two history magazine.

Keep on keeping on.

Great guys indeed. The same should be said about the Japanese Americans who fought in WW2...

Yeah. One of the saddest lines of the movie is when Billy asks "why would you want to fight for a country that lynches you as a thanks?"
I know he didn't mean it but it's heartbreaking that these men were willing to (and indeed did) lay their lives down for their country and they were treated like dirt.

Thankfully things change, in part thanks to the courageous example of men (and women) like them. Maybe some day people will say the same about gay soldiers who died in Irak and Afghanistan.
