Eleanor Roosevelt Scene
All I could think was, you go girl. (She asked to go up with one of the black pilots and asked when were they going over to fight in the war like the rest of "our boys".

shareThat was such a great scene. Rosemary Murphy was terrific as the First Lady.
I'm a totally bitchin' bio writer from Mars!
Wondering if this is an actual documented occurrence.
shareAnswering my own question. Watched this video:

I have seen pictures of her wearing a red Cross uniform in the South Pacific making frontline visits during the worst of the fighting in 1943. She would arrive in a small plane, ask questions, etc. She was her husband's eyes and ears for years.
On Guadalcanal she arrived at the front on a flatbed truck. There was still fighting on the other side of the island. One of the GI's said "My God, its Eleanor." There is a video shot by a sergeant there of her. Also still pictures of her being shown a shot down Japanese fighter plane and visiting where soldiers were buried with their helmets and mess kits hanging from crosses and a home made chapel. I saw other pictures of her reviewing Samoan Marines wearing a combination of native garb and US Marine equipment. She was with their colonel and Captain who were Americans in American Samoa.
I don't know everything. Neither does anyone else
Eleanor Roosevelt is arguably this countries greatest first lady! Watch a documentary if you can ... she was an amazing woman!
