The Strangest Title For A Movie

I've never seen the film and have always wondered who To Wong Foo, I mean, Wong Foo was. I guess I'll have to watch the movie to find out.

The girls see an autographed picture of Julie Newmar in the Chinese restaurant they eat at. The picture is signed 'To Wong Foo', the owner of the restaurant. Vida finds it inspirational and takes it.

that explains where the line comes from, but it doesn't explain why the filmmakers used that line for the title

dumbest title i have ever heard.

Actually, the previous post, explains both.
They used the line "To Wong Foo: Thanks for Everything, Julia Newmar" because Vida believed that Julie Newmar was watching over them. It was that line that made Vida have a revelation about the trip.
It's not a dumb title. It's original and hilarious.

"Do you even remember what you came here to find?"

lmao whatever you say.

"to my loving husband: don't forget to pick up some milk on your way home, Your Wife"

You're an idiot. The title if the movie like some one else has stated is original

And it's certainly a title you don't forget!

I like it: it sort of fits the tone of the story: off-beat, funny, a little irreverent and devil-may-care about reactions.
