Did her family know?

When we watch the film and the Talk show the family is on it cuts back and forth to Suzanne telling her side. It seems that the this is something that is simultaneous until we see the ending and we know when Suzanne taped her pov. However, when was the talk show interview filmed. They Interview different family members throughout the film and they mention "the last time I saw her" did they mean before her death or they simply hadn't spoken to her, but she was still alive at that point. If not, did they know she was dead? You would think that would come into play on the talk show since her husband was murdered, how would her death be explained?
