life goes by faster then a summer vacation

that doesn't make sense.

How so? I remember when I was a kid, summer vacation (in the states you usually were off of school from the first week of June to the first week of September) would FLY by. What the character was saying is that life is just as fast, that you don't realize where the time goes and then it's over.

The older you get the more sense it makes.

When I was little, 5-12 or so, summer vacation felt like 9 months. When you get a little older high school and college, summer vacation wasn't worth a damn lol. Now in my late 20's, 3 months feels like one month. I don't even want to think about how fast time will fly when I'm hovering around 60.

It's as bad as you fear. Worse really as you can only look forward to your health getting worse. If there's anything in life that you need to do or experience, do it quickly. I think that was the point of the movie, or at least that quote.
