Nice film, lousy subtitles

Amen to that. I rented the DVD tonight, and was very much interested in the film, but couldn't keep track of the dialogue because of the !@#$%^&* white-on-white subtitles. Can't figure out why, in this day and age, that a distributor (or whoever's responsible) can allow this to happen. Extremely irritating. I THINK it was a terrific film, but I wish I could've understood what they were saying. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Indeed! The film is good but seems that all the DVD's available are really crappy.

Ironically, the copy I rented (region 4) had yellow subtitles easy to read, but burnt-in!

since I do understand portuguese pretty well I just didn't need the subs. Actually they were quite intrusive at times, but it was impossible to turn them off!
