Yes, from memory it had a forced emotionalism from Mira Sorvino and Mathew Lillard that was supposed to set us up for the remainder of the movie but because it started on such a weak premise nothing ever felt engaging and satisfying. That is strictly on an entertaining story basis.

Next came the shi-tay look and cheap cinematography of the movie. I dont suspect artistic license was taken when creating a washed out color scheme, unimaginative camera use, and overall just dull dull dull acting. The movie did have a dreary plot to follow but there is a difference in creating a movie that focuses and emphasizes dread and one that is pitifully dreadful.

The high point of the movie was the puppet section, which makes sense because it took wooden painted "people" and expressions to bring any sort of life to the movie. BAD BAD BAD. I had to watch it for school. SHI-TAY - And I have a crush on Mira Sorvino. Too bad about her career. I wish I had been there to warn her.

(Sorry if you were my film professor who decided to show this movie. I just didn't like it is all.)
