Three things messed the movie up
The movie was almost perfect except for three things:
The name of the racist politician -- should have been more of a David Wallace or a Jack Lester. Metzger, who is a neo-Nazi is the antithesis of any of the racist politicians that administered and ran American places during the time of segregation and lynchings. David Duke -- don't even get me started on how wrong he was for the picture.
A racist politician being the owner of a slave house is where another fallacy of enormous stupidity proportions begins. Being for slavery doesn't make you a racist. And the other cases is true -- that being against slavery doesn't make you for other races. Racism and slavery have nothing to do with each other. Never did.
The last one is the most annoying error. The racist guy was a perfect villain. However, his tattoos give the error. Hitler was no Nordicist (as the movie tries to imply the opposite being true). His main man, Hans Gunther, repeatedly said, "The Meditteranean race is superior, culturally, to Germanic peoples." Now, if the tattoo guy had pictures of white segregationists on horses wearing hoods killing non-whites. Now that would have been believable. On a side note, countries that were Allied were the real racists. Denmark, Britain, and later on Israel, had racism against non-whites that were purely violent. In Denmark, German women were beaten and shaved and had swatikas tattooed on them.
