For others who read it, this spoiler answers your question. Alyssa, the surrogate, kidnaps the baby and convinces Joan to let her keep it or she will reveal that Joan killed her first baby and was using a fake name to adopt the child.

Good for Alyssa. Because she trusted the Quinns but regrets that now. They killed their infant son, Christopher and they deserve to be punished.
