"Latest technology"

I always wondered what it is the Korean business dude's showing Lenny in the back of Mace's limo. It's just before Lenny tries to peddle the guy Playback. He goes "Look! Latest technology" It kind of looks like he's holding another SQUID box...maybe implying that this type of "memory wire" technology was official entertainment media on the foreign market?
