Any other films like SMOKE??

I've seen Smoke, Blue in the face, Subway stories, After Hours and Mind Gap. What other artsy films that takes place in NYC where different stories merge would you recommend me to see..???

Shortcuts.

"Short Cuts" is one of the quintessential LA films, not NYC...

FYC: Steve McQueen, Adele Exarchopoulos, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Lea Seydoux, Michael Fassbender.

I'm not sure of the locations but...
Twenty Bucks
2 Days in the Valley
Pulp Fiction

Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy *beep* we don't need

Well, 'Smoke' is hard to beat for this style of film, but there are a couple that come to mind that meet your criteria:
1. The Deli
2. Side Streets
3. The Daytrippers (sort of...at least it's in NY)
4. Double Whammy

And some multiple storyline films well worth seeing but not filmed in NY:
5. Magnolia
6. Park
7. Crash
8. Even Money
9. Grand Canyon

Notice how most of them are made in the mid-nineties. Interesting, really.

Try Clerks (1994) by Kevin Smith.
It has a similar feel to it.

Blue in the Face
Coffee and Cigarettes

I'm surprised nobody mentioned The Station Agent. IMHO a movie very similar to Smoke (it does not take place take place in NYC though).
