A NEW DVD PLEASE!!!

I LOVE this movie! It's always been a favorite of mine. So dark and disturbing. Ted Raimi and Traci Lords totally rock.

I was always disappointed with the quality on the VHS, though. The film itself looks so washed out and old, though it's only been released twelve years ago. This puppy is due for some major remastering.

The previous DVD release was a joke. It was basically just a standard VHS transfer and they stupidly used the R-rated version as a source. All of the delicious gore was cut and SEVERELY. I was so incredibly disappointed. Hope one day this flick gets the treatment it deserves. It's a definite classic.

Right on. A new DVD release is needed severly. Did anyone else notice the echo? It's a great movie though. Ted Raimi was great as always.

Can you make copies of the uncut VHS version? I haven't been able to find one. I only have the DVD.

I just watched it today and it was better than I was expecting it to be, if a shade inconsistent in tone, but pretty solid. I'd like to see it get a proper dvd release myself actually.

Just like the animated Hobbit and Secret of NIMH, this is ripe for a proper restoration. The worst part about the DVD is that it occasionally features VHS tracking lines. Ted Raimi deserves better.
