Why was the film made in 1995, but released in 2000 in the West? Straight away when I saw it I knew the movie wasn't made in 2000! It LOOKED 5 years old and very cheap (under $5 million US?)

And if Jet hadn't broken through to the American audiences, it probably never would have been picked up.
Both it and Ringo Lam's "Full Contact" were Sony's attempt to create a specialty label like Dimension, and just like Dimension, they ended up chopping up and otherwise savaging the films they released.
